Job Description: The Engineering and Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the hotel's engineering and maintenance department to ensure that all systems, facilities, and equipment are operating efficiently and effectively. This role includes managing a team of technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and implementing maintenance programs to enhance guest experiences and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: - Manage and lead the engineering and maintenance team, providing training and development opportunities. - Ensure the staff awareness of energy management within the property by conducting regular education and training programs on energy conservation and matters related to efficient operation of equipment in a cost-effective fashion. - Plan, implement and administer an energy management program by establishing energy reduction objectives, the maintenance of records and regular reporting, aiming for cost efficiency and sustainability. - Oversee repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. - Ensure the effective operation of all the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program. - Closely monitor the condition of the physical property and equipment by conducting continual inspections of the building. Ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are in operation and regularly upgraded. - Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures. Ensure that the hotel fulfills all compliance requirements. - Ensure that any tests and inspections required on hotels by statutory authorities are carried out as and when required and that all records and documentation associated with such tests and surveys are correctly kept and/or displayed. - Prepare and manage the department’s budget, including expenditure for repairs and upgrades. - Control of Capital Project Planning, in liaison with management, to ensure capital funding is effectively allocated and budgeted in accordance with company directives and philosophy. - Liaise with contractors and vendors for larger projects or specialized maintenance needs. - Ensure the cost effectiveness and technical efficiency of all services performed by outside contracts by close supervision. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with contracts, leases, services agreements and warranties. - Maintain the condition of the physical assets of the hotel by carrying out any upgrading and project work in liaison with architects, interior designers and management. Requirements: - Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience, 3 years experience in a managerial role, preferably in the hospitality industry. - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field. - Proven experience in engineering and maintenance management, preferably in a hospitality environment. - Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire/life safety. - Proficient in budget management and cost control. - Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed. - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. - Highly detail-oriented, independent, proactive, self-motivated, with strong sense of responsibility. - Macau ID holder only.
