Group Station Manager

Job Descriptions:

  • Manage and control the operation of FAO trains and take charge in handling of incidents and train defects.
  • Review and monitor the performance of station service, staff, service contractors and station facilities from time to time to ensure that the agreed safety and customer services standards are met and take corrective actions when standards deviate.
  • Within his/her station group, work closely with the subordinate Senior Station Master and Station Master to ensure:
-> all station staff in the station group are well-trained, qualified and competent to perform all assigned duties.
-> 2-way communication channels are always provided for effective communication between superiors and subordinates.
  • Ensure that the company and departmental policies, performance targets and standards, operating and emergency procedures are clearly explained and practiced via training, understood and complied with by all staff members within his/her station group.
  • Instil a customer centric mind set amongst station staff. Direct the station team to implement customer service improvement initiatives to support the provision of high-quality customer service.
  • Prepare station operating budget, monitor and control recurrent expenses and initiate cost saving measures when necessary.
  • During incidents, direct station staff to implement relevant contingency plans for service recovery as well as to ensure customer care, such as timely provision/dissemination of information and timely arrangement of free shuttle bus service etc. are well taken care of.
  • When required, act as Incident Officer to take charge of incident handling, ensure safe and speedy recovery, carry out independent investigation on incidents and prepare reports in a timely manner; and recommend the improvement and preventive measures for involved departments and disciplines to avoid recurrence.
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments and projects as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree holder, preferably in Transportation Management or relevant discipline.
  • Chartered member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (MCILT) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant working experience of which at least 3 years at managerial level and 5 years in transportation operations.
  • Successfully completed functional training course of group station manager and be qualified.
  • Self-driven individual with good interpersonal communication skills, able to work meticulously and efficiently under pressure as well as resolve issues to minimize impact.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and Chinese.
