The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) is currently looking to fill the following vacancy in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS): Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (Ref. No.: FHS-AP80) Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Perform academic duties, including but not limited to teaching modules within the Faculty of Health Sciences and other jointly collaborative programs; 2. Oversee the department’s academic programs and strategic direction, ensure appropriate and effective management of the departmental budgets, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration across faculties for the Associate Professorship position; 3. Support and promote the faculty’s objectives centered on excellence in teaching and learning through high-quality curriculum planning, instruction, and service; 4. Supervise undergraduate and graduate internships and/or research projects; 5. Experience initiating, developing, managing and operating community outreach programs in collaboration with other services providers and official bodies; 6. Conduct high-impact research and publish in high-quality journals; 7. Seek actively and secure external research funding from government bodies, private foundations and industry sponsors; 8. Develop grant proposals that align with the faculty’s goals and broader University research strategies; 9. Implement innovative approaches to enhance departmental visibility and impact; 10. Support faculty in leveraging interdisciplinary resources and opportunities; 11. Ensure effective representation of the Department’s interests both within and outside the University. Requirements: 1. PhD Degree in either health sciences, social sciences, psychology or a related field; 2. Minimum of 3 years of full-time professional experience in a higher education setting is required; 3. Credential received from the international community in his/her fields of expertise; 4. Experience in supervising postgraduate students; 5. Commitment to active engagement with students and colleagues; 6. Ability to contribute to the formation of strategy and plans at the faculty level, through engagement with the Dean and faculty colleagues, conducting environmental scanning, and assessing opportunities and risks; 7. Proficient in English and/or Chinese; 8. Macao ID holder is preferable. Salary and benefits will be commensurable with the qualifications and experience of candidates.
