PREQUISITES. WHAT IT TAKES TO JOIN.

• Licensed Architect.
• At least 10 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in public sector/public works or large-scale civic/infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture (B.Arch./M. Arch. or equivalent) is required.
• Proven track record delivering projects in Macau SAR, strong familiarity with Macau’s statutory submission processes, building control, and public procurement procedures.
• Registration/licensure as an architect in Macau.
• Knowledge in BIM and CAD, working knowledge of common CDEs and document control protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders in a public sector context.
• Ability to prepare clear reports, specifications, and presentation materials.

PRIMARY DUTIES. PEOPLE & CULTURE / OPERATIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, THE FUN PART AND YOUR MAIN FORTE

• Lead architectural design from concept through construction for complex public works projects, ensuring functional, sustainable, and contextually appropriate solutions aligned with Macau SAR government standards.
• Champion design quality, universal accessibility, lifecycle cost-efficiency, and durability suited to Macau’s climate and coastal conditions.
• Lead projects team to ensure compliance with specifications, budget and timeline, while coordinating projects with all project key stakeholders.
• Act as key point of contact for leading projects and ensure all communications are properly managed and relayed across project team.
• Direct stakeholder engagement, including client departments, public authorities, utility companies, local communities, and end-user groups.
• Report progress and risks to senior management and public sector clients; prepare presentations for steering committees.
• Oversee preparation and coordination of drawings, BIM models, specifications, and technical documentation for statutory submissions and lead & manage to prepare full sets of tender packages.
• Lead statutory team in reviewing project designs to ensure compliance with relevant standards and statutory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Macau building codes, planning guidelines, fire services requirements, barrier-free/accessibility standards, environmental and heritage protection regulations, and occupational safety norms.
• Manage interfaces with structural, MEP, civil, traffic, landscape, façade, fire services, acoustics, sustainability, and QS disciplines.
• Lead procurement support: respond to RFIs, evaluate contractor proposals, value engineering, and participate in tender clarifications.
• Provide construction stage leadership: shop drawing and material review, site inspections, NCR resolution, change control, and practical completion/handover.
• Implement project controls: scope, schedule, budget tracking, risk management, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).
• Drive sustainability measures aligned with regional and international standards (e.g., BEAM Plus/LEED equivalents where applicable) and integrate climate resilience.
• Mentor and develop junior architects and technicians; promote best practices in BIM and digital delivery.
