Sommelier

Responsibilities
 
  • Overseeing the serving of wine, ensuring the right temperature, glassware, and storage of bottles.
  • Monitor the proper storage, aging rotation and temperature of all stock in beverage storeroom on a daily basis.
  • Deliver a delightful bar and dining experience to our guests.
  • Understand guests’ needs and deliver excellent service and professional recommendation.
  • Creating and updating wine lists and wine pairings with the Chefs and Bar Manager.
  • Ensuring stock levels are maintained
  • Perform a combined role of Floor and Sommelier duties to serve our guests recommending food and wine pairings in accordance with the menu.
  • Able to serve tables, understand the food menu, and be familiar with food notes and sequence of service.
  • Prepare all drink garnishes keeping the garnish station continuously stocked.
  • Supporting maintenance and stock checking of the wine cellar, ordering and updating the wine list.
  • Always follow and apply HACCP standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-4 years relevant experience in fine dining
  • Proven work experience in a Sommelier role.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of energy and a good team player
  • Confident in running busy shifts
  • Have an interest in wine and beverage with a passion to develop their knowledge further.
  • Good command of English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
  • The Holder of WSET level 3 certificate or above.
