Director of Purchasing

Applicants must hold a Macau ID due to work permit restriction.

About the role
The Director of Purchasing is responsible for overseeing the procurement of all goods and services for the hotel, ensuring that quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness are maintained. This role involves collaborating with various departments to meet the hotel's needs while adhering to budgetary constraints and maintaining strong vendor relationships.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the hotel's overall objectives.
  • Identify, negotiate, and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and quality of products and services.
  • Administering the contractual related procurement activities for instance starts to invite quotes on timely manner prior to the expiration of the existing contract other than managing the contract logs
  • Monitor and control the purchasing budget, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Oversee inventory levels, ensuring that stock is maintained at optimal levels to prevent shortages or excesses.
  • Work closely with various departments (e.g., Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering) to understand their purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of supplies.
  • Stay informed about market trends, pricing changes, and new products to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in all purchasing activities.
  • Manage and mentor the purchasing team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Ensures all Four Seasons Hotel HACCP Policies and Procedures are in place and followed. Local regulations are in compliance as well as the cleanliness and organization of all work areas.

What you bring
  • 10 years managerial experience in the Hotel Purchasing leadership role.
  • Bachelor degree preferably specializing in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office systems, including Word, Excel, procurement software and systems.
  • Understand and be familiar with hotel quality standards and service standards
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
