Bench Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Bench Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical components in a workshop environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineering and quality control teams to ensure precision and adherence to technical standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Testing & Troubleshooting

• Perform detailed testing of electrical components (e.g., circuit boards, wiring harnesses) using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic software.
• Identify faults, short circuits, or performance deviations in systems.

2. Repair & Assembly

• Repair or replace defective components (e.g., capacitors, resistors, connectors) through soldering, crimping, or rewiring.
• Assemble prototypes and devices according to engineering schematics.
• Calibrate equipment to meet technical specifications (e.g., voltage, current, signal accuracy).

3. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain detailed logs of test results, repair procedures, and component modifications.
• Generate reports for engineering teams to guide design improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and manufacturing standards (e.g., OSHA, NEC).

4. Equipment & Inventory Management

• Inspect test equipment assembly kits for completeness.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain lab tools (e.g., soldering stations, power supplies).
• Report malfunctioning equipment and coordinate repairs.

5. Collaboration & Support

• Review assembly information with Design Engineers to confirm the latest schematics and wire lists.
• Assist R&D, production, and quality control teams with technical troubleshooting.

6. Quality Assurance

• Assist Quality Control in final inspections of completed test equipment.
• Perform rework as needed to meet quality standards.

Requirements

• Education: Diploma or associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience: 1–3 years in electrical bench technician roles, including board-level repair.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with soldering irons, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and schematic diagrams.
• Knowledge of electrical codes (OSHA, NEC) and safety protocols.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management abilities.
• Physical Requirements: Visual acuity for detailed work; ability to handle small components.
