Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This role involves ensuring that the projects are completed within budget, providing cost estimates, managing contracts, and assessing the financial viability of projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting
o Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
o Monitor and manage project costs to ensure they stay within the allocated budget.
2. Contract Management
o Prepare, review, and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
3. Tender Management
o Prepare tender documents and manage the tender process.
o Evaluate and negotiate tender submissions from subcontractors and suppliers.
4. Cost Control
Monitor and control project costs throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Valuations and Payments
o Conduct regular valuations, assessments of completed work and apply interim payment.
o Assess and manage interim and final payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
6. Risk Management:
o Monitor and address financial risks throughout the project.
7. Reporting and Documentation
o Maintain detailed records of project costs, contracts, and financial transactions.
o Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and clients.
8. Change Management:
o Manage and evaluate changes to project scope and their impact on costs.
o Ensure all changes are documented and approved.
9. Client and Stakeholder Communication:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for financial and contractual matters.
Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
10. Quality Assurance
o Ensure all work complies with quality standards and contractual requirements.
o Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience (at least 5 years) in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools.

Skills

• Experience with large-scale hotel projects
• Familiarity with cost management and financial reporting.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
