Security Manager / Assistant Security Manager
Job Description:
The Security Manager / Assistant Security Manager is responsible for developing and implementing security policies and procedures to ensure the safety of guests, staff, and property. Key responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, managing security personnel, and coordinating emergency response plans. The Security Manager also monitors surveillance systems, investigates incidents, and collaborates with law enforcement agencies as needed. Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential for success in this role, along with a thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices in security management.
Responsibilities:
a. Security Operations Management:
1) Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures
2) Monitor and manage all security operations, including surveillance systems, access control, and patrols
3) Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities
4) Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and hotel policies related to safety and security
b. Team Leadership:
1) Recruit, train, and supervise security staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations
2) Provide ongoing training to security personnel on emergency responses, conflict resolution, and customer service
3) Foster a culture of professionalism, vigilance, and teamwork within the security team
c. Incident Management:
1) Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and guest complaints
2) Investigate and document security breaches, thefts, accidents, and other incidents
3) Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed
d. Guest and Employee Safety:
1) Ensure the safety of guests and employees by maintaining a visible security presence throughout the hotel
2) Implement measures to prevent theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities
3) Provide assistance and support to guests and staff during emergencies
e. Technology and Equipment:
1) Oversee the maintenance and operation of security equipment, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems
2) Stay up-to-update on the latest security technologies and recommend upgrades as needed
f. Collaboration and Reporting:
1) Work closely with other hotel departments to ensure a coordinated approach to safety and security
2) Prepare and submit regular reports on security activities, incidents, and trends to hotel management
3) Attend management meetings and provide insights into security-related matters
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in security management, preferably in the hospitality industry. Experience working in Macau or familiarity with local security regulations is an advantage
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field is preferred
- Relevant security certificates (e.g., CPP, PSP, or equivalent) are a plus
- Possession of First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in using security systems and technology
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure
- Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is highly desirable
- Macau ID holder only
