POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the AVP - Network Engineering, the Senior Manager – Data Centre Management is a leadership role with managerial responsibility, and a strong technical understanding of data center operation and infrastructure, including network, server and telecom equipment. The Senior Manager will plan, organize and manage a team of direct reports to develop, maintain, support and optimize key functional areas to support the company's IS&T infrastructure, deep dive into any given function as needed to develop, coordinate and lead data center infrastructure projects. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide Data Centre Management, capacity planning and design, implementation, proactive maintenance, continuous improvements and technical expertise to support and ensure service availability. - Manage all operations of data center facilities including facility provision, monitoring, reporting and communication, as well as administration of tape backup and storage quotas across all properties. - Provide 24 x 7 emergency support services for data center facilities, disaster recovery, ensure the recovery time of services and strategies for business continuity. - Define monitoring roadmap for system availability and performance, create metrics and monitoring, and support SLA reporting. - Manage access control for data centers, closets, all IS&T premises across GEG properties. - Coordinate with support teams on planning, installing, maintaining and decommissioning of infrastructure equipment. - Responsible for strategies and capacity planning, design proposals, budget, project management and implementation adhere to architecture, established policies and procedures, and support audit and MCSL compliance. - Manage change and prioritize tasks of all complexity levels throughout their full life cycle, driving process improvements. - Participate in the Request for Proposal and Tender process in accordance with company policies and procedures, maintain departmental budgets to ensure fiscal and project goals are met. - Coordinate support resources and partnerships with Mechanical and Electrical Data Centre Management, Surveillance, Security teams, and vendor management. - Develop and train the Team Members; Lead and manage a team of direct reports to support day-to-day operations. REQUIREMENTS: - University degree in the field of computer science or equivalent work experience - 8 years experience managing a large 24/7 data center environment - 5 years supervisory or management experience, professional experience in project management, business continuity and capacity planning - Excellent budgetary experience, possessing broad knowledge of data center facility and infrastructure for enterprise networking, server and storage equipment - Safety and security skills, extensive experience in designing and maintaining data center facilities, including security management, power supply systems, CRAC/HVAC systems, moisture detection systems, fire suppression and detection systems - Good knowledge and understanding on TIA-942 and TIA/EIA-568, ISO9001/14000, MICR, and ITIL change management process - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an excellent ability to communicate in English/Cantonese and ability to translate business needs to and from technical requirements. - Excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal, teamwork, facilitation and negotiation skills, ability to tactfully and positively manage and maintain business relationships - Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Visio, construction blue prints and architectural drawings - Excellent problem solving skills, able to work independently and work under pressure
