POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining platform-as-a-service capabilities that empower agile teams to develop, run, and manage applications without the overhead of building and maintaining the underlying infrastructure. You will apply modern lean and agile principles to solve complex challenges and continuously push both yourself and your teammates to grow. You will play a key role in driving the success of our digital initiatives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, build, and maintain a self-service application delivery environment for developers through automation, virtualization, and process enhancements.
• Serve as a bridge between operations and development teams, fostering collaboration and alignment.
• Support knowledge sharing and team growth by mentoring and guiding other engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on platform engineering experience, including designing, managing, and optimizing complex multi-tier architectures; scripting; source code version control; configuration management; continuous build, integration, and deployment; system administration; containerization; cloud orchestration; monitoring; and security.
• Experience working in a technical environment utilizing languages, frameworks, tools, and technologies such as Java, Groovy, Ruby, PHP, Python, Spring, Grails, Rails, REST APIs, JSON, SQL, NoSQL, Ansible, Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Background in a product-oriented, team-based environment that applies modern digital delivery approaches including user experience design, lean, agile, DevSecOps, and cloud computing.
• Experience coaching and mentoring other engineers is considered an advantage.
• Degree in a technical field, or equivalent work experience or training.
• Deep expertise in platform engineering.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and system architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud environment operations.
• Ability to think holistically when addressing engineering challenges.
• A thoughtful, adaptable, and positive mindset.
• Empathetic, humble, and collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Cantonese and English, covering both technical and non-technical topics.
