Manager - Training (Hotel Brand)

POSITION SUMMARY:
• Operates under the general direction of the AVP - Training and Communication and in accordance with the objectives, performance and training standards established by the Galaxy Hotel to support all aspects of training needs for hotel operations.
• Ensuring there is robust training programs and structure in place within Hotel Operations
• Working hand in hand with the hotel leadership team, CEM Quality team to identify the training needs and narrow down the service excellence gap
•Champions and advocates the Asian Heart attributes and supports the Galaxy hotel leadership to build upon our culture


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Drives and Champions Hotel operations training delivery by highest possible customer engagement
• Formalizes, implements & evaluates operations learning strategies.
• Leads, develops & mentors training managers and trainers in Hotel ops.
• Works with Hotel Op's leadership & aligned with OD&T to develop an annual training Plan and establish priorities.
• Contributes to the annual operations training Plan strategy and budget in consultation with Hotel leadership team
• Measure and report outcomes by ensuring consistency and providing quality assurance oversight to program design, delivery and trainer development
•Ensure the team is trained to deliver thoughtful, intuitive and gracious service with highest level of consistency embracing elements of luxury.
• Be the guardian of the Departmental ops training Manual and Specific Operating Procedures to ensure maximum comforts for guests.
• Assumes any other project based responsibilities assigned by VP Hotel Operations
•The role will need to engage and collaborate with other BU like transport , teleservices , CEM , Marketing beyond the core Hotel Ops areas to get the level of consistency and excellence through the entire customer journey.
• Keep abreast of the industry best practices to evaluate the training trends, identify the training needs. Remain vigilant to new competitive training related developments, hospitality trends, and other market insight through regular research including competitor stay programs.
• Ensure training space and equipment for the required training programs are well planned.


REQUIREMENTS:
• Forbes Executive Trainer background preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ senior management experience in a learning and development team including the direct responsibilities for learning and training program design, development, delivery and assessment.
• Experience working with Adult learning
• Minimum of 4 years as a classroom teacher/trainer/facilitator, preferably in the hospitality sector.
• Demonstrated ability to consult with key client/stakeholder groups to understand training and development needs to meet business objectives.
• Knowledge of Hotel Operations PMS systems and similar such as OPERA desirable.
• Ability to collaborate well, be a team-player, coach, and develop others
• Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Hospitality management / training .
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Mandarin. Cantonese an advantage but not a prerequisite.
