POSITION SUMMARY: A Creative thinker and a master wordsmith with the Chinese language for advertising, and all manner of digital communications especially Social Media. Candidate will work within a team of other copywriters, and across functions with the design teams, brand comms and business operations teams to collaborate on producing compelling and highly-engaging communications such as 360° marketing campaigns, PR, Videos, as well as all online and social media. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for high quality, engaging Chinese Putonghua copywriting for all GEG brands. • Support and collaborate with Brand/Products and Operations leadership to conceptualize and write communication copy and editorials for the Company and the Company’s brands – including for print, web, mobile, video, and social media – with a focus on the Greater China market • Interpret creative briefs from key internal stakeholders into concise, structured and compelling concepts, key messages and/or narratives that position our brand clearly and succinctly for the target audience; adapt tone and message to different target audience groups • Conduct stakeholder conversations and independent research to ensure rich and engaging copywriting that reflects the essence of the different brands and touches Chinese consumers' hearts and minds • Deliver effective copy based on a grounded understanding of our brand/products; factor in any considerations that may shape and characterize the copy/messaging in the most compelling way possible • As a key reviewer of marketing messages, proofread key communication copy/assets, and provide quality control of such materials/ assets across the Company • Not just a craftsperson. Generate brand building, big ideas that transcends mediums, nuances of languages, with a focus on the Mainland Chinese market. • Ensure flawless execution from concept through to on-air product with engaging copywriting that reflects the essence of the different brands and touches Chinese consumers' hearts and minds. REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to write engaging copy in SC is a must • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a mainland 4A's advertising agency preferred. • At least 3 years as a manager in a similar role • Profound understanding of Chinese culture and the Chinese language. Basic fluency in English • Self-motivated, mature and willing to work long hours if need be. • Open-minded, a team player, whom is sensitive to schedules and timeline.
