Senior Manager - Risk Management

 POSITION SUMMARY

This position is a key member / contributor for the Risk Management function who will help review specific risks, e.g. Operation and Compliance risks, that are associated with the Company, in particular the areas in which he/she can provide insightful and practical input based on his/her background and knowledge. He/she is also a key member who will be responsible for the assessments and regular reporting of those risks based on the review of the process, relevant documentation and the status of remediation, if any, for further review by the management teams. This position will also act as a coordinator and convener in the corporate crisis situation that he/she needs to responds in an efficient and appropriate manner to implement the crisis plan

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Obtain a thorough understanding of the existing processes (primarily gaming/hotel operation and supplier management), risk owners and the type of documentation related to the specific risks that are in-scope for the detail review due to their significance
- Facilitate the discussion with the risk owners and other relevant stakeholders about the specific risks associated with operation process flow to be reviewed and their significance
- Facilitate the risk owner of the GEG business units in: (1) establishing the “Risk Management Program” including the Risk & Controls Self assessment process; (2) establishing the “Risk Monitoring Baseline” to capture the operational losses and identifies near-miss historical events, qualifies the impact of risk event losses, reports on the status of current risks, and tracks the progress of ongoing corrective actions
- Review the necessary information and documentation from risk owners, with specific focus on operational incidents, to perform a preliminary assessment of the specific risks
- Facilitate in the follow-up discussion with the risk owners and relevant stakeholders about the findings from the review, if any
-Ensure appropriate documentation and validation supporting the closure of risk items being identified
- Perform detail review of the relevant documentation and supporting to assess the progress of the remedial actions to ensure they have properly and sufficiently addressed the risks as reported by the risk owners
- When there is a Crisis, he/she will monitor and evaluate the situation and update the situation to the SVP – Risk Management. Support the situation crisis management ensuring appropriate mitigating action steps are identified and executed.
- Support execution of Risk Management programs and projects across BU's.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s degree in Business in a reputable universities, higher education is a plus
- 5-8 years solid working experience in MNCs environment and held managerial position(s), preferably with Gaming and Hospitality operation experience
- Able to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across different Business Units
- Excellent business writing skills in Power Point, needed to prepare Management reports and recommendations
- Sensitive to numbers and excellent Excel skills to analyze raw data and be able to transform into meaning analysis for Senior Management team
- High degree of organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Flexible and be able to take ad-hoc tasks
- Self motivated; able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Management Consulting experience (i.e. Big 4) is a plus
- Fluency spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese/ Mandarin)
